I am thankful for FISH!!!

In Erika's Sunbeam class on Sunday they learned to be thankful for fish. As Kirk was telling her a bedtime story that night she asked if she could get one. He proceeded to tell her that they needed to ask Mommy. So after some discussion we decided this would be a fun thing for her and pretty easily maintained. So, for family night last night we discussed being thankful for fish again and then headed to Wal-Mart to get one. We decided a Betta fish would be best, it would last a little longer than a normal goldfish and they're prettier! Erika has had $20 of birthday money from Grandpa and Grandma Jerri for stuck to the fridge for 6 months so we thought this would be a fun thing for her to get. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Jerri!

She picked out a fish that has a red head, purple body and blue tail fins. It's quite pretty. She told us it's a girl and HER name is MAX!!! :o) She was so excited and it was so worth it. We were going to buy the fish tank, but she insisted on buying EVERYTHING with HER money. So, here's to Erika's official FIRST pet!!!

How fun for her! When Ashlyn got that lesson in Nursery the teachers sent each nursery child home with a goldfish in ziploc bag...that was about twenty goldfish sent to certain death! Ours did last I think two days...we tried but the trauma of Ashlyn screaming everytime it moved I think was too much for it! You're doing it the right way though...good luck!
