Independence Day 2012

For not having any plans for the Fourth of July it turned out to be a fun filled day. We took our new puppy, Oakland, to the park for his first walk on a leash. (Yes....  we got a new puppy...  And NO I didn't want one...)  The kids got to play and then we watched for a train. (which never came...) Then we headed home for lunch and naps. Yay!!!  Then at 4:00 in Centralia they had a parade. The kids all got lots of candy and enjoyed the floats, other than the loud cars scaring Jocelyn.

After the parade we went to get some fireworks and the kids got to play of the inflatable slides and toys, which they have been asking for all week. They had a blast.

We then went home and BBQ'd some yummy steaks. Afterwards our dear friends invited us to crash their house for fireworks... so much fun to spend a day with the kids, no chores and nothing we HAD to do.

I hope everyone had a great Independence Day!  I am truly thankful to all the men and women who have served, and who are currently serving our country!  Thank you for helping to keep our freedom! God Bless the USA!!!!!

The Big 32

Wishing a Happy Birthday to my Sweetheart!  He had his 32 birthday this last week.  :o)  It was pretty low key, but I hope he felt like it was a special day.  We finished Camp Helaman the morning of his birthday and were home about 11:20.  He then was able to take a nap while I took kids to run some errands.  After his nap we spoiled him with some presents.

Kaden gave him a squirt gun - I don't know who was more excited!

Erika wanted to give him a special treat

And taking off with the loot!  :o)

We went to eat dinner at a little Chinese restaurant and had a family from church over for some pie for dessert.  Happy Birthday Sweetheart!  I sure do love ya!  Hope you had a fantabulous day!  Good news is, that next year, Camp Helaman will be OVER!!!  No Camp on Kirk's birthday!!!!  :o)

Camp Helaman 2012

Well, another year of Camp Helaman completed.....  This year we only had to do 5 days instead of 6, and I believe we were all a little less tired.  :o)  My mom had to cancel at the last minute, which stressed me out quite a bit.  But it all turned out better than we had anticipated it would not having Grandma's there.  A HUGE THANK YOU to my sister-in-law Ali and brother Kyle (let's be honest....  I'm sure it was mostly Ali :o)  ha ha.....  But nonetheless...  a BIG THANK YOU to them.  They were wonderful to take our kids on Tuesday mid-morning until Kirk picked them up after work on Wednesday.  Kirk was able to take Thursday and Friday off, so he and the kids came up on Wednesday night.

I have to say it was a pretty good year.  No major injuries or illnesses!!!  Wahoo!!!  :o)  This is the 4th year in a row that between Rhonda and I we have had a newborn at camp.  I think we will be breaking that record next year.  :o)

My favorite Big Girl!

It was lots of fun as always, the kids got to play with cousins, play on the playground, and ride bikes.  I think I am still trying to catch up on sleep!!

Kid Fun

We are enjoying our new home and lots of new friends!  Summer has finally started and we are loving the sunshine!  Here are just a couple random pics of my cute kids.  :o)

Kaden and his friend Jaxon were going on a camping trip.  The brown paper roll is their map!  :o)  Looks like they're all set!

Jocelyn decided to make herself comfortable in the kitchen cupboard.

Fire Pics

Here are some pictures of our Bishop's home that burnt down on June 2.

Monster Trucks

At the beginning of June there was a Monster Truck show in Longview.  Kirk was very excited and the guy putting it on is a member of the credit union so he wanted to go support it.  We got tickets and talked it all up!  Me never having been to a Monster Truck show, and Kirk not having been to one in the past 10 years or so, didn't even think about the noise...... UH-OH!!!!  It was sooooo loud!  Poor Jocelyn cried for the first 5 minutes, at which point we tried to put ear plugs in, but she wasn't having it!!!  Poor baby!  So, after another 10 minutes I took her and we got to sit in the car.  She took a little nap and then she was happy to just sit there with me.

The Bone Crusher - was giving rides, only $20 per person!  YIPES!!!

Kaden on the other hand LOVE LOVE LOVED every second of it!  He was in Heaven.  I mean, what little boy wouldn't be?  :o)  He and Daddy talked about their favorites, and Kaden still almost every day asks when we will go see the Monster Trucks again, and it's a month later.....  Erika sat there and pretended to like it, although I don't really think she did.  When we mentioned just taking Kaden to the big Monster Truck show in Tacoma, she didn't complain.  Which, I believe is a sign that she wasn't enjoying it too much.  I wish I would have gotten to see some more, as I have never been to one.  But I'm sure there will be many more chances in the future.  :o)
