After lots of planning we were able to have a girls trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon. The goal was to get our close group of high school friends together as kind of a little reunion. Only four of us were able to make it, Lauren (Ludlow) Cox, Christina (Giles) Maxfield, Talese Baxter, and I, but we had SOOOO much FUN!!! Four days of no kids, no husbands, and nothing to worry about. (I love my family dearly, but it was nice to have a little break!) After picking Talese up from the airport we were able to meet up with a friend of mine, Sheila Rothstein for dinner. We all arrived at the beach house on Thursday night, and stayed up late trying to play catch up...
Friday mid-morning we took a walk down the beach, then went to eat at Mo's, which is a seafood joint right on the beach. It was a fun experience. After lunch we headed to Astoria where we were able to see the house where Goonies was filmed, and the school where Kindergarten Cop was filmed. We saw the sea lions laying on the docks. One of them spat at Talese, and it was hilarious! The closer we got to them the more they barked! Kinda freaky, but it was fun. We then got to go to Astoria Column, which is used as a beacon on the coast. It has 164 steps, which Talese and I ran up, and our legs were BURNING!!!! It was a gorgeous view as it's 600 feet above sea level. Then we did a little shopping, ate some dinner and did LOTS of talking and reminiscing. :o)
Saturday morning we walked down to hole in the rock on the beach. Lauren said it was one of the few times she's been able to walk all the way around the rock because the tide was so far out. We crawled in the hole and saw the amazing star fish as well as many other sea creatures. It was a fun adventure. After getting ready for the day we went to the Tilamook Cheese Factory. It was a little bit of a drive, but it was sure beautiful! We were able to see the process of making cheese, which was quite interesting and then we ate lunch at their little cafe. After browsing the stores and getting souvenirs to bring back to the kids, we had some YUMMY Tilamook ice cream and headed back to Cannon Beach to do some more shopping!!! We hit all the little stores and then grabbed some dinner at a pizza joint. mmmmm..... Followed by more talking and reminiscing.... ha ha...
Sunday we walked down to Haystack rock and took pictures around there. Then we went to Pig'n Pancake and have a great breakfast! Then we got to hang out, and talk some more and just spend time together! Talese and I had to head out about 3:00 to catch her flight. It was sure a fun and relaxing trip! Thanks to Lauren's parents for letting us stay at the Beach House! It was fabulous!!! Can't wait for the next one! Thanks girls for such a fun time! You other girls reading this that were supposed to come, just know that WE MISSED YOU! Hopefully we'll catch you at the next one.
My family was sooooo cute! I came home to an adorable sign that said, "Welcome Home Mamma!" Erika had drawn pictures all over it. It was so sweet! Thanks to Jennis, Rhonda and my sweetheart for watching the kids! I sure appreciate it. You are all AMAZING!

It was so much fun:) I can't believe we haven't seen each other for so long but it didn't seem to matter when we came together. I am so glad that we got together and can't wait to do it again!
