All the cool people are doing it....

Ha ha ha.... Well, I'm giving in... I've never done New Year's resolutions and I guess this year I'm trying to be one of the "cool people." :o) Although honestly, I took a look at my life and realized I needed to make some changes. So, I have resolved to make some resolutions! I won't list them all because let's be honest, the list is long and there's a LOT I'd like to change. But I'll start with baby steps. I figure if I post them here, they are in writing... More people will know about them... And thus, maybe I will actually follow through with them! :o)

My first resolution is to loose weight... I know, it's the same as everyone else!!! But I'm SERIOUS!!!! Thankfully a very sweet lady in the Napavine area has started a "Biggest Loser" challenge. I opted to join the challenge in hopes of some motivation. The group ended up MUCH larger than she had anticipated, and now there is a potential to win $900.00!!!! Can you believe that?!?!?! Who needs more motivation than that?!?!? So, first place winner gets $900.00, 2nd place receives $500.00 and 3rd place gets $400.00. Mind you, there are like 72 contestants.... BUT it was definitely the motivation I needed to get moving. As well as the fact that so many wonderful ladies around the area have decided to get up and MOVE!!! It's nice to have some local gals for company while taking nice COLD walks. :o) And I'm excited to start feeling better about myself. I've already noticed a difference in my energy level. So, that's a start! I'll keep you posted!

My second resolution is to be a better MOM.... I have vowed to spend some more one on one time with my children. Being a stay at home mom, I've always thought, "I'm with them all day!" But really?!?!? How much time do I actually spend WITH them, not doing their laundry or giving them food, but actually enjoying them. So, that is a goal that I am currently working on as well. My sister-in-law was telling me about the book the Five Love Languages for Children... I'm going to take some of advice from her and read it and try to put into practice it's small and simple steps. The first being... Trying to make sure they each have 4 meaningful touches a day... Not just helping them put their jackets on, but actually stop for a minute and give them a hug, or a kiss. They aren't going to ask me to snuggle too much longer, so I'm trying to take advantage of it while I can. :o)

And the last resolution I am going to share with you all is that I'm going to be a better BLOGGER!!! :o) I've resolved to do at LEAST one post a month. I'm hoping it will be more... But, we will start with one and see how it goes. So, this should cover me for January. :o) And hopefully I'll be on again before the end of the month! As I sit here typing, I had forgotten how much I enjoy jotting my thoughts and ideas down. I now remember why I started blogging in the first place. It's basically my own personal journal. So, hopefully that will be the motivation I need to follow through with this resolution! Also logging onto my blog it was fun to see that many of you are much better than I and have continued to be faithful Bloggers. So, I can't wait to get back into the game and catch up on all of your wonderful lives! Wishing you all a Happy New Year and I hope that you too will be able to follow through with some of your resolutions! Happy Blogging! :o)

Good resolutions Jill! You'll do great and there is not better motivation than $900.00....or even $400.00. Man, if I could think of any way possible I could make it in the top three I would be making serious changes and joining in with you for the win! Good luck!!!! If I promise to feed you a healthy meal next Sunday can I have a percentage of your winnings? ;)
